US Investors Have Poured 1.1 Billion USD into Ho Tram Strip Project

The Ho Tram Strip project was poured $ 1.1 billion by US investors

Asian Coast Development Ltd is one of the large US investor who come and set up company in Vietnam.
Ho Tram Project Company (HTP) is a wholly foreign-owned subsidiary of Asian Coast Development Ltd, with more than 1 billion USD of committed capital deployed, which is the largest US private company investing in Vietnam. Moreover, they are also the first company to register for Vietnamese to play casino.
According to HTP – the investor of the 4-billion-dollar-super-project named “Ho Tram Strip”, the Company has poured 1.1 billion USD in this project and they has just announced to continue to fund the phase 3 includes apartment tower, condotel and villa.
Located on the north side of The Grand Ho Tram Strip resort, the 12-story Kahuna Ho Tram Strip project has a total of 244 rooms. It consists of 164 one or two-bedroom apartments, 9 penthouse apartments and 44 luxury villas located on the beach with area of 218 to 223 square meters.
According to the developer, this project when completed will contribute to the diversification of facilities and realize the goal of turning Ho Tram into the entertainment capital of Vietnam. In addition, HTP has developed the Gallery Villa apartment project at the nearby The Bluffs golf course. The 2nd hotel tower with 559 rooms named “The Beach Club” is now rushing to complete to welcome its first guests in early 2018. Furthermore, other service facilities such as water park, outdoor theater and private international airport are also underway.
It is known that the price of condotel apartment in Ho Tram is from 2 billion VND (equivalent to about 88,800 USD), villa is priced from 8 billion VND (about 350,000 USD). The project was designed by leading architectural firm Korn Architects and is due to commence in quarter 4 of 2017.

What Investment Areas Encouraged in Vietnam?

Vietnam is encouraging investment in infrastructure, developing high-quality workforce, supporting industry and agriculture.

Vietnam remains consistent policies to attract foreign investment oriented to continuous improvement of policies, enabling businesses environment to be more competitive.  In the meantime, the Vietnam National Congress are passing important legislation such as the Investment Law, Business Law.  The Vietnam government is reviewing the overall legal system to synchronize, avoid contradictions and overlapping. The Government will be transparent in sectors which investment is conditional and prohibited.
In particular, the Vietnam Government has reduced corporate income tax from 25% to 22% and from May 1st, 2016 this rate continue to decline to 20%.  Before, the enterprise takes 537 hours per year to do the procedure in tax preparation and declaration and now this has dropped to 201 hours.   In 2015 this procedure is expected to fall to 171 hours – equivalent to the average level in other ASEAN countries. The customs clearance of goods also fell to 63 hours.  Procedure in social insurance fell from 335 hours to 108 hours in 2015 and is expected to only 49.5 hours.  Since 2005 – 2008, the average time to establish a company in Vietnam is 32 days. Now the time was reduced to 5 days, and in 2015 reduced to 2-3 days.
In the coming time, Vietnam will implement a number of policies to encourage investment in four areas.  The first is the development of infrastructure. In this field, the public-private partnership (PPP ) should be prioritized.  The second area is the development of human resources, especially human resources with high quality.  The third area  is supporting industry. The fourth area is agriculture with the goal of increasing the value of the processing product. Vietnam is a country where the proportion of the working population in agriculture is very high. The advantage of Vietnam’s agricultural sector is also something that many international organizations have recognized.

Vietnam Solar Power Industry

Many investors are interested in solar power in Ninh Thuan, Binh Thuan, Bac Lieu and the market is very dynamic. According to General Electric Plan VII, the total installed capacity of solar power of Vietnam by 2030 will achieve 12GWp, so there will be nearly 12 billion USD pouring into this sector.
The lack of electricity price policies for renewable energy and solar energy are the main causes for the attraction of investment in this sector becomes less interesting.
However, presently there are many investors interested in solar power projects in Vietnam. The solar power investment market is very exciting and a lot of investors are very willing to pour capital into the sector.
Many projects of current investors are not only located in Ninh Thuan and Binh Thuan – 2 provinces that are attracting the most solar power projects, but also extending to Quang Ngai, Thua Thien Hue, Ha Tinh, Hau Giang, Bac Lieu…
According to the Clean Energy Association of Vietnam, currently the country has about 30 investors at home and abroad that are setting up new solar power projects with capacity of 20 MW to over 300 MW in some localities. Notably there are many foreign investors coming from South Korea, France, India… have registered to invest in some central provinces.
Not only foreign investors, domestic investors are also starting to research and invest in clean energy market. For example, Central Power Corporation has a solar power plant with capacity of 150 MW in Khanh Hoa; Vietnam Electricity Corporation is planning to research two projects in Dong Nai and Binh Thuan, Ninh Thuan.
Vietnam is a country with the potential of solar energy. The average solar energy density is 4.3 kWh/m2 and the average number of sunny days is around 2,000 hours/year.
In particular, from Da Nang to the southern, the potential of solar energy is very good, the radiant energy density is in the range of 4.5 to 5 kWh/m2; the average number of sunny days is 2,200 – 2,500 hours/year. Therefore, the application of solar power in these areas will be highly effective.

Vietnam Real Estate Ranks Second in Attracting FDI

In the first quarter of 2017, the real estate sector continued to grow steadily as it continued to rank second in attracting foreign direct investment (FDI) and the number of newly established businesses continued to increase. Those are good signs showing that foreign investors prefer to invest and set up company in Vietnam.
According to the Vietnam National Real Estate Association (VNREA), in a total of 7.71 billion USD registered FDI in the first quarter of 2017, the real estate business sector attracted 0.34 billion USD, accounting for 4.5% of total registered capital and ranked second after processing and manufacturing industries in attracting FDI.
The most remarkable project in the field of real estate in the first quarter was the Vietnam – Singapore Industrial Park III project, which is invested in Hoi Nghia commune (Tan Uyen town) and Tan Lap commune (Bac Tan Uyen district), Binh Duong province, on an area of 1,000 hectares with investment capital of 284.7 million USD, invested by Vietnam – Singapore Industrial Park Joint Venture Limited Company (VSIP).
The first quarter, also recorded 924 real estate businesses were newly established, increasing 55% in number of enterprises and 34% in capital.
According to real estate professionals, in the second quarter, the resort real estate market will continue to grow strongly, attracting the attention of both foreign and domestic investors thanks to the great tourism potential of Vietnam.
Regarding capital for real estate development, it is forecasted that FDI capital will still accounts for a high proportion, domestic capital is the main source of capital. Capital in the people and remittances will be mobilized more, especially investment in the tourism and resort sectors.
Real estate transactions are expected to increase as some large projects with thousands of units are soon to be offered for sale. However, investors are advised to be cautious in selecting projects with good incentives and professional operators to invest.

Cargill (USA) Will Build Factory in Bac Ninh

Cargill Company (USA) is planning to build a factory specializing in producing livestock feed in Bac Ninh. It shows the attraction of Vietnam market, which makes foreign enterprises to come and invest in Vietnam.
On January 6th 2017, Chairman of Bac Ninh province had a meeting with Mr. Jorge – CEO of Cargill Vietnam came to survey and explore Bac Ninh province. Cargill is the US leading company in the fields of agriculture, food, industrial products and financial services. With more than 150,000 employees working in over 100 countries in the world, the revenues of the Company reached 150 billion USD a year.
In Vietnam, Cargill has 11 factories manufacturing and processing livestock feed in many localities across the country, such as Dong Nai, Hung Yen, Long An, Can Tho, Binh Dinh, Dong Thap and Nghe An…, creating jobs for thousands of workers.
Through surveys, Mr. Jorge impressed with the favorable investment environment, infrastructure, drastic and flexible management system of Bac Ninh province. Hence, the Company intends to build a factory manufacturing livestock feed in Que Vo 3 Industrial Zone in the first quarter of 2017.
It is expected that the Cargill factory has a total investment of 60 million USD, with the area of land to be used is 11 – 13 ha, capacity of 70,000 tons/month. This will be the largest factory of the Company in Vietnam, applying modern technology and equipment with a closed and environmental friendly deodorizing process.
The Chairman of Bac Ninh province welcomes Cargill Company has trusted and choose Bac Ninh as investment destination to invest in stable and long-term production. He also assigned the Management Board of Industrial Zones in coordination with the VID Group – the infrastructure investor of Que Vo 3 Industrial Park and other offices complete the legal procedures and creating all necessary conditions for the project of Cargill Company.

Quang Ninh Calls for Investors in Tourism Real Estate

Real estate tourism investors are being called by Quang Ninh

Quang Ninh is becoming an open destination for tourism investors to come and set up business in Vietnam.
With the land area and sea surface of over 12,000 square kilometers, the topography of more than 2,000 islands spread over 250 kilometers of coastal lines, Quang Ninh is considered as a “small Vietnam” with the potential to develop green tourism. Hong Kong Investment Funds Investing in Real Estate, Banking of Vietnam

In the talks with Vietnam Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc on September 14th 2016, representatives of corporations and large investment funds from Hong Kong have expressed their interest in investment opportunities in Vietnam.
Talking to Hong Kong enterprises, Government leaders said that Vietnam has amended the Law on Investment towards more open and transparent, creating stable investment environment, ensuring maximum property rights of investors and enterprises; conducting strong reform of administrative procedures in areas such as taxes, electronic customs clearance…
In the process of development, Vietnam hopes that foreign investors will invest in areas such as road transport, railway, waterway and other infrastructure. The Vietnam Prime Minister also noted that investors in the process of production and business should pay attention to ensure the livelihood and skills training of employees; compliance with laws and regulations regarding environment protection in Vietnam.
Highly appreciated the solutions and policies of Vietnam Government, Dr. Jonathan Choi – Sunwah Group Chairman, who is also a permanent Honorary President of China Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong said that investors in Hong Kong are very interested in the stable investment environment and respecting the development of private sector in Vietnam. Vietnam Real Estate Attracts Singapore Investors

Investment flows from Singapore to Vietnam real estate sector are increasing with the presence of many huge investors.
According to the Consulate General of Republic of Singapore in Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC), Vietnam is one of the leading markets for investment of Singapore businesses. Currently, Singapore’s real estate businesses are operating successfully in Vietnam. A typical case is the 7 Vietnam – Singapore Industrial Parks (VSIP) that has attracted more than 8 billion USD of investment capital and creating jobs for more than 155,000 workers.
According to Director of Department of International Business Development of Singapore, many multinational enterprises that headquartered in Singapore are also very interested in the real estate market of Vietnam. SynGience Financial Group from Singapore, Lucky Land Company and Minh Nguyen Long Company have signed contract to invest 400 billion VND in Depot Metro Tham Luong project with the scale of 660 apartments, next to the Tham Luong line stop of the subway no. 2 (Ben Thanh – Tham Luong).
Most recently, Ibeworth Pte. Ltd., – a subsidiary with 100% capital of Keppel Land and Nam Long Investment Joint Stock Company have signed contract to register to buy convertible bonds of Nam Long with a total value of 500 billion VND.
